Arcos de Valdevez

Habité depuis la Préhistoire, comme en témoignent les différentes fouilles archéologiques parmi lesquelles ressort le Complexe Mégalithique de Mezio, le bourg situé dans une vallée traversée par le fleuve Vez conserve tout le charme qui caractérise la région Alto Minho - des paysages verdoyants et une architecture traditionnelle où ressortent les maisons seigneuriales.

Une partie de la municipalité d'Arcos de Valdevez s'insère dans le Parc National de Peneda-Gerês, où la nature conserve tout son charme original et cache des villages communautaires comme Soajo, où les populations maintiennent leurs us et coutumes ancestraux.
