Melgaço

Près de la Galice, le village de Melgaço s'est développé autour du château qui fut construit sur ordre du premier roi du Portugal, Afonso Henriques au XIIe siècle.

Situé dans une région extrêmement fraîche et verdoyante, où se produisent les fameux Vins Verts, à Melgaço vous ne pourrez manquer de visiter le Manoir d'Alvarinho, où vous pourrez goûter les différentes variétés de ce vin unique au monde.

Dans les alentours, vous croiserez de beaux monuments de style roman comme le Monastère de Fiães et les Églises de Notre-Dame d'Orada et de Paderne. Citons également le village traditionnel de Castro Laboreiro, dont la fondation remonte à l'Âge de Fer et donne son nom à une race canine originaire de cette région.

À près de 4 km de Melgaço, les Thermes de Peso sont très recherchées pour les qualités thérapeutiques de ses eaux.
